Delievery Ceremony Tan Cang 99 Tugboat in Damen Song Cam
On April 25, 2022, the Delivery ceremony of Tan Cang 99 tugboat (ASD2813) took place between Damen Shipyard and Tan Cang Offshore Services (TCO) / Tan Cang Northern Maritime (TCM) in Damen Song Cam Shipyard. This is the first commercial vessel that DAMEN hands over to a Vietnamese customer. TCO/TCM is honored to be Damen's strategic partner in building new tugboats/offshore vessels to meet the increasing demands of domestic and foreign partners in terms of technical requirements and age of vessels.
The ceremony is with the presence of H.E Vice Minister Hannake Schuiling for Minister for Foreign Economic Relations – Kingdom of Netherlands during her trip to Vietnam, H.E Elsbeth Akkerman - Ambassador of the Netherlands to Vietnam, H.E Hoang Minh Cuong - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People's Committee, leaders and representatives of Vietnam People’s Navy and esteemed Japanese and Vietnamese partners.
During the ceremony, the delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate and expressed their joy when the opportunities for cooperation between the Governments are opened so that more businesses are excecuted resulting in more connections and cooperation with Vietnamese, European and Japanese enterprises. The delegates also expressed the wish for support from governments in order to create opportunities for companies such as TCO/TCM and DAMEN to corporate and contribute to the country's economical and social development.
Tan Cang 99 tugboat (Damen ASD Tug 2813) is a modern designed tug classified by the BV registry with large towing capacity, highly maneuvering performance and environmental-friendly. Thanks to its flexible operation, the tugboat can be used as habor tug, and any other near-shore and offshore operations, firefighting or oil spill prevention.
Tan Cang 99 will be put into operation at TC-HICT, which will ensure a better towage service along with improved safety and efficiency of the fleets at port, and meet the needs of port development and expansion.
The delegates and leaders then also toured Tan cang 99 and Damen Song Cam shipyard. After these investment projects, TCO/TCM hopes to continue to accompany DAMEN in purchasing more modern and eficiency vehicles to put into operation.
