Information about the features of Tan Cang 66 tugboat
TCM’s investment in two DAMEN new-built tugboats (Tan Cang 99 which has been in operation since 2022 and Tan Cang 66 which is expected to be delivered in August 2023) ensures capacity enhancement and modernization of the company's operating fleet, ensuring the safety of the operation of mother vessels berthing and unberthing Hai Phong port area, as well as ensuring the implementation of rescue work at sea. The tugboat is designed to reduce NOx emissions that meets IMO Tier III standards, contributing to the construction of Hai Phong “green port” area in the future.

Compact design
Damen ASD 2811 has a modern design classified by the BV registry. The tugboat design focuses on providing a combination of safety and efficiency. The fore deck has a completely flush design, optimized for various towing modes, giving the multipurpose tug optimal performance. The ergonomic design includes easy accessibility to winches, bollards and the fairleads. The ASD 2811 is highly maneuverable with 60t bollard pull ahead and 55t bollard pull astern.
Flexibility
Equipped with modular winch options which enable rendering and recovery at a wave height of up to 3 meters, the ASD 2811 excels in versatility. A towing winch in the bow, together with the wide distance between the tow point and the propeller outlet gives the tugboat flexibility, good turning, allowing direct access to the mother vessel in any direction, thus creating favorable conditions for wire making.
